FLUSHING, N.Y. - Tapping into her experience playing in one of the world's biggest tennis tournaments, Henderson's Asia Muhammad won for the first time at the U.S. Open Wednesday, advancing with a three-set win in the qualifying tournament taking place at the National Tennis Center.
Muhammad's talent is a direct result of the Andre Agassi Foundations Boys and Girls Club program where she was coached by UNLV NCAA Champion Tim Blenkiron.
"Asia is very excited to be here and she showed that on the court today. She is really starting to become a mature young lady," explained her father Ron Holmes. "But we would not be at the US OPEN if not for Andre's foundation and Asia's coach at home Tim Blenkiron. We have also been getting a lot of great help and coaching from the USTA. Asia is excited to work hard and see what she can do to make them all proud."

Indoor tennis in Las Vegas just gained significant ground in Las Vegas thanks to the opening of the International Tennis Centre, a new $15 million state-of-the-art tennis facility located minutes from the famed Las Vegas Strip. Prior to the opening of the International Tennis Centre, there were few options for playing tennis in a professional indoor environment in the Las Vegas area.
The International Tennis Centre provides the ultimate tennis experience in a climate controlled indoor environment. The facility is regularly used for training by several of the world's most renowned professional tennis players and coaches, and is now readily available to tennis players of all levels.

Edgardo Ureta was born in America to immigrant parents from Chile. He had few opportunities and according to him, "I just knew how to fool around, party and lie to my parents about everything. On Friday we would buy a bottle of Jack Daniels and that was our weekend," explained Edgardo.
