Dear USTA-Nevada juniors and adults,

Continuing our efforts to offer fun social events for all of you we have some free pro football tickets for the first 250 to respond to this email.

My uncles close friend Paul Pelosi (Husband of Nacy Pelosi who is Speaker of the House) has extended an invitation for all the USTA-Nevada juniors to attend the new pro football league game this Thursday October 8 at 6pm as his guest. We also need many adult chaperone's. All persons willing to chaperon will get an extra ticket to bring a guest. Chaperone's just enjoy the game along with the juniors!

American Asia Muhammad lived up to the hype today by beating the #1 junior in the world Kristina Mladenovic of France at the US OPEN. Kristina is also the 2009 French Open girls champion and a finalist at Wimbledon. Muhammad who was up 6-1, 4-1 ended up fighting off a last minute surge by Mladenovic closing it out 6-1, 6-4.

Mladenovic, was a semifinalist in the U.S. Open juniors last year and runner-up at Wimbledon juniors this year, proving she is very comfortable on the world's biggest tennis stages. With one of the best serves in the girls juniors, Mladenovic can take the initiative from the first point, but Muhammad who has been playing professionally all year has proven she can perform on the big stage as well.

To continue USTA-Nevada's efforts to bring more free social events to the tennis community Ryan Wolfington negotiated with the Palazzo's new Lagasse's Stadium Restaurant and sports book to create a fun way to watch the US OPEN men's semi-finals and women's finals this Saturday.

They have reserved just for USTA members free of charge their new private Luxury Box #2, which features large plasma TVs, a pool table, video games and patio access to watch the US OPEN. They will also give all USTA members a VIP card worth a 25% discount with certain restrictions.

The USTA Intermountain Junior Team Tennis Sectional Championships were recently held August 14-16 at the Gates Tennis Center in Denver, Colorado. Teams representing all six of the Intermountain States competed in the event, including two teams from Southern Nevada: the 14 & Under Intermediate Team from the Summerlin Tennis Club, and the 18 & Under Intermediate Team from the Andre Agassi Boys & Girls Club.

Both teams had outstanding results at the Championships: The Summerlin Tennis Club team coached by Gordon Hammond, took 1st Place, and Team Agassi coached by Sue Owens, came in third.
