The tournament is the senior tennis equivalent of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup, with the top American tennis players representing their country in the 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80 and older age groups. The ITF Super-Seniors World Team Championships is the most prestigious team event on the ITF Seniors circuit.

Las Vegas local player, Herman Ahlers, will be part of the Bitsy Grant Cup Team in the Men's 75 & over division. Click here for a complete list of the players representing the United States at the 2012 ITF Super-Seniors World Team Championships

The Americans will enter the event as the defending champions in nine divisions: defending four Cups in the men’s divisions, including the Von Cramm Cup, Britannia, Bitsy Grant Cup and Gardnar Mulloy Cup; and three in the women’s division, including the Alice Marble Cup, Althea Gibson Cup and Queens’ Cup.

Since the inception of the ITF Super-Seniors World Team Championships in 1981, the number of competitors taking part in the tournament has increased each year. In 1993, the ITF made the decision to divide the Seniors World Championships into two groups ? Seniors (35-55) and Super-Seniors (60-80).

The ITF Super-Seniors World Team Championships, the World Individual Championships will take place September 16-23.

The Men's UNLV tennis team injected additional excitement into this year's TPC Ladies Spring Luncheon. On Tuesday May 7th, UNLV coach Owen Hambrook and his team put over 40 ladies from TPC and surrounding clubs through their paces. The team, along with TPC tennis pros Mark Swanson and Ken Shioi, put the ladies through 2 hours of challenging drills. It was an opportunity for the ladies to learn new training techniques and enjoy high level tennis skills up close. The event concluded with a gourmet lunch prepared by TPC Executive Chef, Shane. It was the ideal combination of exercise, learning, and socializing and many were already excited for next year's event.

Springtime in Paris was a great way to end the 2013 Women's Weekday League. Over 170 ladies and pros attended the celebration at Canyon Gate Country Club! Kelley Morgan from When Pigs Fly Events and her USTA crew, Mary Maragos, Maureen Caruso, Janay Oakland and the USTA interns transformed Canyon Gate's ballroom into another place and time. As soon as you arrived at the event you were whisked along the streets of Paris to a small cafe where you could take pictures with Andre Agassi's US Open Trophy and the Brian Brothers 2012 Olympic gold medal. As you continued into the reception area you could bid on numerous silent auction items at the Paris Flea Market that were donated by many local businesses. For the brave of hear, you could learn the fate of your future from the fortune teller.

After everyone had a chance to mix and mingle, the doors opened to the grand ballroom where tables were set with beautiful bouquets of flower, vintage umbrellas and a small gift bag personally made by Kelley. Canyon Gate provided a delicious buffet lunch which was followed by a fashion show courtesy of Janice Wilson and Eccoci in Boca Park. Eccoci's latest fashions were modeled by different ladies on the weekday tennis teams. It was great to see the ladies strutting their stuff. It was definitely an event to be remembered
.

The ladies (and gents) were all looking fantastic! Check out the photo album above of the day's festivities
