Wolfington2009 -Mita-Gillin-O'Neill East Coast Leadership Tour, sponsored by Marriott, takes 10 children to 8 cities, 6 Universities, historical sites, countless country clubs to play tennis and be inspired by daily Leadership Breakfast talks with CEO's, Senators, Professional Athletes and more. Some of the speakers included in photos above are Ann Curry of NBC, Executive Producer Jim Bell, Senator John Ensign, Sports Marketing magnet Donald Dell, ATP Pro player Sam Querry and many more. The trip is sponsored by the Wolfington extended family, Marriott and VegasTennis.com's Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation. Children that attended had an average 3.7 GPA and all were ranked top 40 or higher in the Intermountain section. The trip was made available this year to all USTA-Nevada members.

Children were taken to Boston, Hyannis Port, Newport Rhode Island and the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Philadelphia, Avalon New Jersey, Washington D.C., New York City and Hartford Ct. University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Georgetown, YALE, Villanova, Haverford and St Joseph's and NYU are a few of the colleges the children got to tour.

Each child did a daily journal and group presentation, as well as an end of trip published journal of their adventures. They visited Valley Forge park, enjoyed playing tennis with Senator Ensign in the private Senate Tennis court as well as breakfast in the Senate dining room. The children toured Independence Hall, Historical Boston and Philadelphia, the Congress and a private tour of American Impressionists Sam Barber's studio in Hyannis Port Massachusetts.
Thanks to Marriott the children stay in the best of accommodations and to the Wolfington family most of the expenses and the speakers were provided for.

Their adventures included seeing the Red Sox in Fenway Park, playing on the grass courts at Merion Cricket Club, the oldest and among the best in the world. Clay court play at Philadelphia Country Club and dinner at the historical Warren Inn mansion in Valley Forge park in Pennsylvania. |
