Harry Lee Byrge, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 22, 2014, after a short illness. He was born March 30, 1950, in Phoenix. Harry moved to Las Vegas in 1958 and graduated from Clark High School and UNLV. Harry worked for over 30 years in the gaming business at Caesars Palace, Sands, Bally's and The Hotel San Remo. He was also a life-long tennis enthusiast, beginning with playing in college, league play and finally the tennis pro at Spanish Oaks. After his gaming career, he went back to college and taught school at the elementary school level. Giving back to the community meant a lot to Harry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eloise Byrge; and brother-in-law, Bill Steffens. Harry is survived by his wife, Gina (nee Tabeek); daughter, Jennifer Ann Stoafer (Jerry); and son, Matthew Byrge. He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Steffens; and brother, Edward (Mariann); along with five grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas 89123.
