Here's the link to see all upcoming tournaments in Las Vegas: http://tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments/Common/. Once you've clicked on this link, look for the "Shortcuts" Heading, which is located just below the USTA banner ad toward the right-center section of the home page. The fifth sub-heading under "Shortcuts" is labeled "All Upcoming". Click on that and scroll down to see all the upcoming tourneys in the area.

USTA Membership: If you'd like to go online to get your child a USTA Junior Membership ($20 for a one year membership), please click on the following link. A membership will enable your child to register for and compete in sanctioned junior tournaments. http://membership.usta.com/section/Individual-Family-Memberships/101.uts

Here's the link to the Junior Tournament Player's Handbook, which contains great information about junior tournament play in the Intermountain Section, tournament levels, and ranking and endorsement information: https://s3.amazonaws.com/ustaassets/assets/645/15/2015_player_handbook_changes_without_points_tables.pdf

Here's the list of junior tourneys/programs in Southern Nevada from easiest to hardest:
* ROGY's. The acronym stands for the types of balls used in each division. 8 & Under play with a Red ball on a 36' court; 10 & Under play with an Orange ball on a 60' court; 12 & Under play with a Green dot ball on a full court. The older divisions (14's, 16's, 18's) play with a Yellow ball on a full court. These are non-sanctioned events and thus don't count toward a player's ranking. Registration for ROGY's are restricted as follows: Any player with a sectional standing and/or a top 30 standing in the southern Nevada district is ineligible to compete in a ROGY.
* LEVEL 8 Tourneys (L8): These events use the same types of balls as the ROGY's do, but they are sanctioned and therefore count toward a player's local Futures ranking. Here are the restrictions for playing an L8 Tourney: Players are INELIGIBLE to compete in this event if they are 1) Ranked in the top 60 in the Intermountain Section in BG 12-18s, or 2) Have a ranking in the top ten in the "State" in the 10 & Under Division.
* JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS (L8): Junior Team Tennis leagues run in the spring and fall and each league has recreational and competitive divisions. In the recreational league, the 12's play with a Green Dot ball on a full court and registration is restricted as follows: Players ranked in the top 70 in the section or who have a "State" ranking in the top 10 are ineligible to compete in the recreational league. With regard to the competitive league, the 12's play with a yellow ball on a full court and players have to have a "State" ranking in order to be eligible to compete. Junior Team Tennis results do not count toward a player's junior ranking. PLAYERS DO NOT NEED A USTA JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP TO COMPETE IN JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS.
* LEVEL 7 Tourneys (L7): L7's are designated as Challenger Tourneys. There are no ranking restrictions as to who can play and L7-L5. In L7-L5 tourneys, the 12's play with a yellow ball on a full court. L7 & L8 tourneys only count toward a players local ranking; i.e. "State" or "Futures".
* LEVEL 6 Tourneys (L6): L6's are designated District Open Tourneys. L6's count both toward a player's "State" and Sectional Ranking.
* LEVEL 5 Tourneys (L5): L5's are designated as District Cup Tourneys. L5's count both toward a player's "State" and Sectional Ranking.
* LEVEL 4-1 Tourneys (L4-L1): The lower the number the harder the tourney. L4's are designated as Master Series tourneys, L3's as ITA Summer and Fall Closed Championships (L4's and L3's are restricted to Intermountain Residents only). L4's and L3's count toward a players sectional and national ranking. Then there are Regional L3's (we have one of those in October called the No Quit) which selects entries based on their national ranking (usually the top 32 nationally ranked juniors are accepted). Above that are L2's (Zonals) and L1's (National Championships). Selection for these events is based on endorsement and national ranking. Please see the Junior Tournament Players Handbook for more information.

Lastly, here's a link that shows the Intermountain Tournament Structure from L8's through L1's: Tournament Structure Flyer. This is a fairly easy way to see the Intermountain Tournament Structure on a single page. http://ustanevada.com/articles/2014/jan/13/2014_intermountain_junior_tournament_structure/2015_intermountain_tournament_structure.pdf
